| Hi Courtney. It's sobering to realize that you are trapped by your weight and it is controlling your life but good for you for stepping in to take control. I suggest you start a journal. Lots of times folks will check up on you there if they see you havent been posting. And then, to stay accountable, visit the site and post EVERY DAY - even when you have been bad. Sometimes you need to be talked through a bad time and the folks here will do what they can to help you keep things on target for you. |

| Welcome Courtney! You have found the best place on earth for support and friendship. The members of this board will help you pull up your boot straps and walk the healthy path. Read the board. The new posts as well as the old. There is a wealth of information here. Their stories will inspire you and as you read about their stuggles to overcome a carb and sugar addiction, they will prepare you. If you have a question, ask. Someone will always answer. I joined this board on October 14th, 2009. My 1st day of Atkins was yesterday, October 26th. As I read your story, I am reading my story. I have felt and still feel the same way you do. But happiness is a choice. I choose to be happy every morning. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. But I at least put forth the effort. The better mood not only benefits me, but my family as well. I can not offer much advice, being that I am new to this way of life too. But I can say that starting a journal here was one of the best things I could have done. I try to check in everyday. Sometimes several times a day. It gives me a chance to sort out my thoughts. It also helps me learn from my mistakes. Because it's written down, I can not forget and that keeps me from making the same mistake twice. I'm sorry that this post is so long. I'm a rambler. I get off track quite often. I wish you good luck in your journey. I know you will be one of the success stories. Just remember to take it one day at a time. |

| Welcome to the Atkins Board. I hope you already have the 2002 DANDR book and have read it, it is the edition we follow on this site. If not it's worth a few dollars to purchase. Get enough pure water in daily (64oz is recommended), exercise and take a non-iron multivitamin. Don't forget to eat enough vegetables (check the acceptable food list (What foods can be eaten on Induction?)(What foods can be eaten on Induction?)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html) - 2 cups from the first list and 1 cup from the 2nd list daily. The recipe sites will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- check them out! Recipe Sites http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/menus.html (Linda’s) (Never ending induction recipes)(Never ending induction recipes)(Never ending induction recipes)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/58513-never-ending-induction-recipes.html (induction recipes) (Never ending induction recipes)(Never ending induction recipes)(Never ending induction recipes)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/58513-never-ending-induction-recipes.html# (additional induction recipes) If you need anything we’re here to help you!! The new challenges will be starting in the next few days -- check them out and join a couple that interest you. Good luck.
