| Welcome back kxb! What is it that causes you to leave low carbing and get off track? |

| It's always the little things. You know, doughnuts, fries, nachos, margaritas, etc. |

| Yup those are the little things for sure - they do seem to have big effects. Congrats on coming back Maybe going on OWL will make you hold on to your loss as you figure out how little of those little things you can have and work out some replacements that can work for you in the long run.

| Hi and welcome back to Atkins -- Regardless of what you did before, or what people are doing now, your body is different than anyone so it’s best not to compare - just follow the plan the way it's written. Look around and find what interests you and join in. Check the STAC Second Time Around Club - Atkins Diet for additional support. Remember, Atkins is a lifestyle change not a quick fix. I hope you already have the 2002 DANDR book and have read it, it is the edition we follow on this site. If not it's worth a few dollars to purchase. Get enough pure water in daily (64oz is recommended), exercise and take a non-iron multivitamin. Don't forget to eat enough vegetables (check the acceptable food list (What foods can be eaten on Induction?)(What foods can be eaten on Induction?)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html) - 2 cups from the first list and 1 cup from the 2nd list daily. Rules of Induction: (What are the Rules of Induction?)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...induction.html (What are the Rules of Induction?) The recipe sites will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- check them out! The new challenges will be starting in the next few days -- check them out and join a couple that interest you. Good luck.

| You are about midpoint to your goal. Keep going !!! You'll make it if you don't quit !!! Do you like red wine like Cabarnet or Shiraz ? When I did Atkins the first time I found that I could have two glasses while on OWL and stay in ketosis. I would only do that every once in a while. You still get your buzz but without the mountains of carbs. |

I'm not much of a wine drinker but have always wanted to gain a little knowledge so I at least know how to order and what goes with what. A wine snob I most definitely am not. It would be nice to get to that "happy place" that seems to come from a couple of good drinks without impacting the diet too much. I tried cherry vodka with diet Dr. Pepper a couple of weekends ago. It was magically delicious, but it cost me a couple of pounds. |

| I have found that there are some foods I will never be able to have because they trigger me way too easily. For me it is peanuts, rice, pizza. For you those foods may be the donuts and fries. But you will be able to have some wine, and a margarita (in the meantime, Baja Bob's has a low carb margarita mix once you get to the alcohol rung) and even a couple of nachos once in awhile in maintenance (although I would still tend to go for the tortilla-less fajitas). But these foods will never become a daily thing if we want to stay healthy. So instead, they become what they are meant to be--an occasional small treat and not our daily menu. |

I tried the Baja Bob's margarita mix and didn't really care for it. My low carb margarita recipe is 4 oz tequila, 2 oz fresh lime juice, and 4 oz of diet Squirt. Tart with a nice kick!
