| Welcome! The first bit of solid advice I have is to make sure you're reading the book, Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, 2002 and to follow the Rules of Induction. If you don't have a copy of the book right now, please check out: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...nduction.html# (What foods can be eaten on Induction?) http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...induction.html (What are the Rules of Induction?) 5 carbs a day or less isn't really how Atkins works ... it's not about how few carbs you eat! Eating that few isn't nutritionally sound ... and isn't likely going to encourage weight loss.

| WELCOME Ginger !!! By all means, read the book, and follow it. Less is Not better when it comes to your eating. You need your nutrition, and don't want your body to go into "famine" mode. Best wishes

| Hi and welcome back to Atkins -- Regardless of what you did before, or what people are doing now, your body is different than anyone so it’s best not to compare - just follow the plan the way it's written. Look around and find what interests you and join in. Check the STAC Second Time Around Club - Atkins Diet for additional support. I hope you already have the 2002 DANDR book and have read it, it is the edition we follow on this site. If not it's worth a few dollars to purchase. Get enough pure water in daily (64oz is recommended), exercise and take a non-iron multivitamin. You should be eating as close to but not over 20 carbs per day on induction, not 5 carbs! Don't forget to eat enough vegetables (check the acceptable food list (What foods can be eaten on Induction?)(What foods can be eaten on Induction?)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html) - 2 cups from the first list and 1 cup from the 2nd list daily.
