| Welcome! I wouldn't think you need to do any more than the 14 days of induction if you only have 17 lb more to lose (from your ticker). Most of us make a few mistakes in the beginning, while getting to understand the rules. I think people here will tell you that it is better to move on to OWL rung 1 which is not very different, because you have a lot of steps to go through to establish a maintenance way of eating that works for you when you reach goal and you may be there pretty soon! Did you read the 2002 edition of the book?

| I read the "new diet revolution" 2002 version. It was rather hard to find a copy and each place I went tried to sell me "the south beach diet" as being "the same thing" but I was set on trying atkins so I found it! As for the 17 pounds...well I probably should shed down to 175 so add 5 more pounds to it but the lowest weight I ever was was 179lbs. My main problem is that I was always an athleet in the past and had allot of muscle on me ... not so much anymore so I want to hit a healthy weight but not be too skinny either.

| South Beach is not the same thing - so glad to stuck to it. And glad you decided to read the book. So many people think they can wing it. Congratulations on doing so great.
