| Welcome to ADBB! Quote:
Do you have a copy of Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution (2002)?

| Welcome Toner T! Can you recognise any particular trigger (food, emotional, hunger...) that leads to you caving after a few days? If you do, you can make a plan to avoid the pitfalls. You know, after the first week or so, the programme suddenly gets easier, so I reckon you cave just before reaching this point. Number one piece of advice: Read the book (DANDR - 2002 edition) if you haven't already and follow the plan to the letter. Number two piece of advice: Always keep an induction legal high fat snack to hand for when the cravings hit. Eat it and think how great you'll feel for not caving and how miserable you'd feel just a few seconds after, if you had. You can do this! We're here to help!

| Welcome to ADBB. As Georgiana asked, why did you not make it past four days? What happened? As for helping you stay on, this board is very informative and supportive but the bottom line is that you have to commit to this and be strong with yourself. If you really want to make this work, then you need to find the strength to stick it out. No one can do that for you. |

![]() Thank you so much for your reply's. Knowing there are Atkins "friends" out there, should help me pull through the first 4 days, one week, and so on! I gave up after 4 days because of the carbs I would see and want. I just didn't have enough will power to say NO! But I really want that will power now, and I want to stick to this. Thanks again. ![]() TonerT |

And make sure you are consuming enough calories and are eating all your veggies. Undereating increases your chances to end up eating the wrong foods.

| Also drink all your water. It's easy to confuse hunger with thirst. You need a minimum of 64 oz per day... but many people find that drinking half their weight in ounces works best. So if you weigh 160 lbs, that's 80 oz of pure water per day. I say "pure water" because things like tea, coffee, etc. don't count towards your water intake.

| You've always heard this before, but drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water daily, exercise is mandatory! Don't forget to take a non-iron multivitamin. Eat enough vegetables (check the acceptable food list (What foods can be eaten on Induction?)(What foods can be eaten on Induction?)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html) - 2 cups from the first list and 1 cup from the 2nd list daily. Rules of Induction: (What are the Rules of Induction?)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...induction.html (What are the Rules of Induction?) The recipe sites will help keep you from eating the same thing over and over -- check them out! When you finish eating for the day plan what you'll eat tomorrow -- if you know in advance it's much easier to keep on track.
