Hello, how do?

I live in West by-God Virginia in a small town. It's the opposite of my last residence, Los Angeles!

I have a chronic illness and take medications that slow my metabolism. So although I walk a great deal, my weight has been creeping upwards. I tried being a vegetarian and some other diets and finally came around to Atkins.

I have no trouble avoiding naughty foods. Economics kept most of them out of my reach anyway. I am not losing weight fast, however, but I persevere.

My crockpot is my new toy and I have made some great dishes.

My best wishes to everyone here! I hope you make your goal weight and stay there!

Wow, that is a big change in scenery! I hope you are enjoying your new home.

On this board, we follow the 2002ed of Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR). It is really worth reading. It might be available in your local library, or can be bought farily inexpensively online or at thrift/used book stores.

Welcome to the Atkins Board.

Many of us take medications that slow our weight loss but as long as you know up front what you are battling t's easier when the pounds don't fall off like they do for others. A few tips to help you get started: Drink a minimum 64 ounces of pure water daily, exercise and take a non-iron multivitamin.
These 3 things are mandatory with Atkins so the sooner you start the better you'll be.

Don't forget to eat enough vegetables (check the acceptable food list
