| It's over 9.00 at Walmart -- you can find it either in the supplement aisle or with the cooking oils in the market area. I have looked at it a couple times but haven't bought it yet. SunnySmile was the first person to talk about it that I heard. She raves about it. I love coconut but I don't know if I can do the tablespoon in my mouth thing! I'm going to have to figure out what to do with the food I bought this morning (before I read we were re-doing induction) for the present and next rung I was going to.....the cottage cheese & yogurt will be bad before we're done....wish I would have known -- 7.00 down the drain.

| Carole, you don't have to restart induction right away. And if you are losing, you don't have to restart at all. If you're losing slowly... like me.... it's a good time to re-evaluate your plan. With me, it was eating too many calories, even though the carbs and food were okay. I think this forum was set up primarily for re-doing induction, but I plan to be here a long time after I finish mine. Because I know my metabolism is very slow, and I will always need to be a little more careful than most people. |

| wow. i'm happy i did a search for coconut oil before posting a new thread. I actually bought a container of it today at walmart because i've heard a LOT of people use it on low carb diets - i'm trying to find recipes on exactly how to use it - i know a lot of people eat it "straight up" - but i think i'll just at first start using it to cook my eggs in. but i will also do some research on how to use it. :P

| My ex and I did a LOT of research before settling on this brand of coconut oil. The WalMart brands were NOT anything more than a low grade oil, you get what you pay for kind of thing. I can't remember the exact differences, was years ago but if I were going to do it, I'd get a good reputable manufacturer. The price at GNC.com is $12.99. Emerald Laboratories Coconut Oil - EMERALD LABORATORIES - GNC This is the best price I've ever see for this product although I don't know what their shipping costs. Nutiva Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil 54oz | RawReform iHerb.com - Product Details - Emerald Laboratories, Extra Virgin, Certified Organic Coconut Oil, 16 oz I've only ever used the Emerald Laboratories brand and the Nutiva brand. They were both great. That Nutiva JUG is quite a deal and I'll be looking into that!! |

LOL, omg, Sunny_One. You will never believe what I did. I read your post and thought, okay, I'll try the oil in my tea. BUT I didn't read where you said a teaspoon so I put in the whole 3 Tablespoons and managed to get it down, but it's floating on the top, about an inch thick....and I'm wondering how in the world anyone manages to get it down. ![]() Then I read your post with a teaspoon in your tea, which makes much more sense. |

| You won't need lip balm for a week after that one! Made me laugh a good one too!

| Carole, eat your yogurt, I'm of the opinion that it's fine. Also the cottage cheese. The brand that I have is called Spectrum, its organic and cold pressed. Its also expired, but I am eating it anyway. Still looks and tastes like coconut. I think I got it at Trader Joes, but can't remember I should be glowing by the morning. |

| Lynne, I am aghast!!! I can't imagine chugging down 3 T of coconut oil!!! I bet you spent plenty of time in the bathroom last night!!! YIKES! I have REALLY been pushing the coconut oil the last 2 days. I'm sure it's a combination of things, but I am betting it had a big bearing on my 2.8 pound loss. I am just ecstatic!!!!!!!!!!!! So you bet I am going to continue to drink it in my coffee and tea!!! |

| Hmm. Okay, so I thought this whole eating coconut oil thing was really disgusting when I heard about it the first time. So I gave it a good ol' fashioned try. I hated it. So I couple months later, I tried again... and actually was okay with eating like, a spoon(ish) bit at a time (NOT a Tablespoon at a time though). So I've been "snacking" on it throughout the day for the past week or so. I am not sure whether it has helped with the weight loss (it has been taking me forever to lose anything this time around), but it *definitely* goes towards killing cravings/hunger pretty much immediately. I started keeping a jar at work, when I start feeling hungry and don't have time to hunt food, I eat some... It's really good for that. Come to think of it, my nails *are* better now... I am not sure about hair/skin.. I saw my stylist on Sat, so I feel like he made my hair perfect. |
