Default It's Decision time

I am at a crossroads -- trying to decide if I stay on extended induction again or go to Rung 1. Yesterday was actually the end of my first re-induction so I have been thinking since I got up what I should do.

About 10 minutes ago I decided to go to Rung 1 and add 5 extra carbs of veggies, I seem to do real well with that Rung...it's the others I didn't go well with...but I'm also not sick this time so I'm hoping that had a lot to do with my non-loss last time up the Rungs.

So....today I'm on 25 carbs per day -- 5 additional veggie carbs and I'm excited because I'm going to make swiss steak for dinner to celebrate my extra veggies.

Carole, I am SO happy you've decided to move up the ladder. I really think you'll do even better.

With all your exercise and all you do, I think it will be a very positive thing for you.

I have moved up. I am using the modified OWL (in my signature). Am adding foods, but not a lot of carbs. It sure makes a difference in how I feel!

Keep us posted!!!!!

Tonight my extra 5 carbs were tomato - it was nice to have them again. I've almost got the garden figured out (how and where to plant things) and I was wondering how many tomato plants I should have this year -- last year I had 6 -- maybe I'll keep it the same, who knows. I'm not growing radishes this year but I will do black seeded simpson lettuce and green onions because I can plant them on the peremeter and not take any space away from the actual veggie area.

Ok - off to bed for me - I'm so tired tonight

I'm only growing two tomato plants this year. We always have way more than we can use, even after I dehydrate tons of them. I still have some I dehydrated three years ago!

I like Romas because you can cook with them and they don't mush up. They also can and dry well. But you don't get those heavenly, huge tomatoes where one slice can make a sandwich with them.

I like the mesclun mix on the lettuce... because you get all kinds of lettuces... frilly, broad leafed, red, and all kinds of different, tender leaves that make the prettiest salads. But I am also growing romaine.

I have radishes planted. They only take 30 days to harvest and can use space around the larger plants before they get too big to shade the radishes out.

And LOTS of green onions since I use very few bulb onions now.

DO grow bell peppers for stuffed peppers! I also like stuffed ancho peppers.

I am hoping it will be sunny tomorrow so I can get out there and work!

I can't wait to see pictures of your garden as it progresses!!!

I hope you get rested, Carole. I noticed you sounded tired on a couple of other threads. Maybe you need to take it easier for a few days?

I have been tired lately Sunny -- but I don't seem to get enough sleep with mom being sick. She is feeling beter today and was outdoors off and on with me this morning when I mowed that lawn and picked weeds. It's suppose to start raining again tonight so I wanted to get the lawn mowed before it was too tall for my mower.

I had lunch and a little desert today after mowing - I had leftover swiss steak and cauliflower from last night and afterwards I wanted something else so I made my version of vanilla pudding (2oz cream cheese, vanilla extract & 1/2 pkt of splenda.

I just hit the button to post instead of continuing to type so I guess I'm done! Think I'll lay down for awhile since it's quiet here.

ok dinner is over and wouldn't they be surprised if they knew what they ate tonight...LOL . I made a meatloaf because I've been so hungry for one for quite awhile...figured out the only thing that was preventing meatloaf was the crackers.....so I got out the trusty pork rinds, crushed them up when mom was out of the room and added them to the mix. I couldn't see making 2 meatloafs, one for them and one for me....it didn't hurt anyone and it's my secret! It tasted wonderful to me.

So meals today were:

Breakfast: typical 2 scrambled eggs w/onion, ham & cheese. 30oz water and coffee w/splenda

Mid-morning: additional 30oz of water while I was mowing and an additional 30oz after I was finished....it was HOT today and I had a sweatshirt and sweatpants on!!!

Lunch: Leftovers yum! Swiss steak and cauliflower cooked with butter, 30oz water. I also had 2oz cream cheese w/vanilla extract and 1/2 pkt splenda (it tastes like vanilla pudding!!) and 30oz water.

Mid afternoon: I laid down to get a little rest and had the electric blanket on (I had a chill when I laid down so I turned it on) when I woke up I drank 30oz of water and ate 2 sliced radishes, 2oz cauliflower and 1/2 tsp french onion dip.

Dinner: Meatloaf, creamed turnips and spinach w/vinegar....OMG it was wonderful!!! Don't forget another 30oz water.....I've drank 180oz of water today.....Maybe I'll have some hot tea later and give the water a rest for the remainder of the evening.

Good day all around. Nothing major happened even though it was April Fools Day...Greg has to be at work an hour earlier in the morning so I have to get up by 6:00...good thing I laid down earlier - my nights are shorter all the time! I feel real good tonight, resting helps. Even if I don't sleep I need to lay down and rest a few minutes in the afternoon. I need to get on my bike tonight, I said it was a biking day and I don't want to have to do 2 back to back days!

Resting during the day helps me, too, Carole... although I haven't done it in a while.

I am going to try to up my exercise and see if I can do better than the 2 pounds per month I did in Feb. and March. If I do, I will DEFINITELY need to lie down a little each day!

We are supposed to get thunderstorms tomorrow. So it will be a while before I can garden. Instead we are planning our Sam's run for tomorrow.
