New posts not marked as unread

Hmm Trying to figure out best to put this. I go to a forum I haven't read all day long and I see lots of new posts and some that don't look new but are. It's as if the board is deciding I don't want to read a post more than X hours old and marking the posts as read.

Are you logging out of ADBB periodically? There is no feature that automarks posts as read (that I'm aware of) but I do know that logging off (whether intentionally done or a browser problem) can force threads to be marked as read.

Nope, not logging off. For instance I was hanging around in the journals this morning and ended up having to do some work. I let the browser open and took a look a few hours later and about half of the new posts did not show up as new posts.


Also in a related question. The old board would show you from the main forum page which forum had new posts. I liked that feature. Is there any way to implement that here?

Well, maybe there is some time limit. I'll wait to see if any others have had that happen before I investigate.

To see the forums with new posts you could always check the 'new posts' link or look for the white icon on the forum - which also indicates new posts.

Perry there is a time limit IAP was complaining about it the first day in a topic.

and also if you open another clickable topic inside a topic and then close it you lose your new posts too.
