dial up window keeps popping up

jack did a disk scan last night and i'm moving pretty fast with this thing today! for once he didn't slow it down!
here's something i have come across since Idoru99 started posting in journals again.

every time i go to a his journal or go to page that he has journaled on, i get a window that pops up asking me if i want to go online with the dial up connection. it happens concerning his name and also sparkles52502. that is the only time it does it. i can go to a page that neither of them have posted on and i am fine. when i check how the challenge is going and i hit a page that they have logged their exercise on , the window comes up.

so what's up with that? any theories?
i click the "x" then go to file and click the "work offline" (when the window comes up a little check mark appears beside the work offline) and then i'm good to go. this is more of a nuisance than anything. just wondering why it does it on just those two.

You probably have some setting that says 'dial up when some internet service is required'. Perhaps their avatars are asking for you to connect or your DSL is disconnecting periodically. Go to your Internet settings and go to 'connections' and check the box 'never dial a conncection'.

Did What You Said And Then Clicked On Both Of Those Journals And It Worked Just Fine.
Got A Couple Little Red "x"'s But Nothing Popped Up.

I have that never dial up too but I have 2 browsers and i get the brower choice conncetion window popping up. Can I click something to fix it or do I need to just keep checking the box on the popoup that says don't ask me again while I'm connected?

Sounds like you need to define one browser as your "main" browser. That is done in the options area of each browser. Which browsers do you have and am I correct in understanding that you don't get the 'dial' pop-up you get the 'which browser' pop-up?

I have told AOL it can't be the primary and IE is the primary but several times on ADBB when my cursor gets ready to click on a topic or even the last post listed in the forums list for a forum that window pops up and tells me it is requesting access and which do I want to use. Clicking that little don't ask me again box ends it until i sign off ADBB and come back. it has never happened on any other site
