| it will depend on if you were deficient or not. The T3 is the active form of the thyroid hormone and is made in a small supply in our thyroids and coverted from T4 in our cells. If you were too low then your cells were slow and not doing the best they could do and the cells depending on the chemicals each other cell produced were not getting the chems they needed to do their best and so forthe it is a chainreaction and a snowballing effect. The changes wil be gradual you aren't going to see a change suddenly like induction type loss but it will slowly get you going better.

| 2big4mysize Thanks for the info. The Dr. did say that he thought by giving me the combo it might help. I was already taking T4. So let's see what happens. Thanks again :wave

| Rivera, I take thyroxine and Armour thyroid. Adding the Armour, which contains T3 and T4, has been great for me. I've much more energy and the brain fog has lifted. It's not been straight forward - I still have periods when I am tired and feel lousy and I'm still titrating my dose, but a definite improvement. It's not been a magic weight loss pill either. It just means that its possible. I can still clap weight on just by sniffing it and have to be really strict. But I've lost weight on Atkins. Good luck with. I hope it helps you too. Felix x

| Hey i was recently prescribed the same, but my doctor has me on such a low dose i wonder if it will be effective? My brain fog has not lifted yet, but I am hoping it will lift soon. I am really excited about the prospect of more energy, easier weight loss and brain function!!! I read that it takes a few weeks to get the full effect. Shanna 204/147/135 |

| I've been on Armour thyroid for about a year. The difference for me is amazing. I thiught the brain fog stuff was normal all the years I was on synthroid. Now, truthfully, I have not noticed Armour helps me loose weight any better than Synthroid did. I was still on Synthroid when I did Atkins the first time.

| bmeade8, if your T3 and T4 is normal and your TSH is high (yours is too high) then you can have a mild (subclinical) hypothyroidism. Have you been having any common Signs or Symptoms? I don't think taking L-Carnitine is bad for your thyroid, but you might want to do some google searches to make sure.
