| I can't remember exactly the time frame either, but you're right. You shouldn't take them together. The iron will interfere with the absorption of your thyroid meds. When you take iron, you should take with some Vitamin A & C, to help your body better absorb the iron. Right now, I take Iron Bisglycinate because it's supposed to be easier on the system. Iron supplements will often constipate us. It's good to know that before you start. Recently, I read in Dr. Atkins' Vita-Nutrient Solution book that Heme Iron is the preferred type to take, as it's more natural. Heme Iron is what we get from red meat. All the others are synthetic, including what you were prescribed (and what I take, but I paid for it, so I'm gonna finish it, you know?) Being on Atkins should help your iron levels, since we eat more red meat than the low cal peeps. And using cast iron cookware can also help you raise your levels a little. Hope that helps. LC4Life
