Where can i buy the supplements needed for atkins in the U.K help please:(

Hi All

I have been on atkins for exactly 4 weeks now yay i am on extended induction and have lost 18lbs so far which im happy about... the only thing is i have not been taking any form of suplements, i have seached most health stores in my local area and i cant find any multi vitamin supplement wihtout iron. i have been reading through the forum and found that taking the supplements is important so i really want to get on to it.. i was wondering if anyone from the UK had trouble finding the supplements? and if so what did they do? any suggestions would be great. i have also searched the net but not found any uk based companies with such supplements on sale..

Have you looked at multivitamins geared toward seniors? They tend not to have iron in them.

Here's a link to Holland & Barrett, a UK website I just found by googling. They have some multivitamins without iron that you may wish to consider taking. I have no idea if this is a good company or not, but you may have a better idea since you're in the UK.

Hi Sara and Biogeek,

I was in town just now and popped into Holland and Barrett. They said the only vit they do without iron is the same one linked to above - the ABC Senior Plus. They said it is fine to take if you aren't senior.

It is on offer right now 60 capsules are down to £2.69 from £5.99 and the larger packet is even less due to a bigger reduction.

They are definately the most useful store in terms of having things others don't, I have found.

I have to admit I take a normal multivit with iron. I've never quite got why we aren't supposed to have iron and hadn't been able to find one. Maybe I'll try this Senior one one my current batch runs out.

Yep, I compared the atkins formular with ABC Plus Senior and it's pretty much the same at a fraction of the cost. Grab one of those and an omega 3,6 and 9 from Holland and Barret and you'll be covered! X

I used the Atkins Basic 3 but I dont think you can get them over here anymore, i got them back in 06!

I asked at boots recently and as Alexa said they said to go for the Senior ones!

I however use Multibionta Immune with Probiotics so i really wouldnt worry about getting a normal multivit!
