Default Slim shot

Anyone ever heard of this? I really need something to get my appetite under control and this looks promising. Go to their website and read up on it then let me know what you think.

susan, what is the deal with your appetite? are you craving things? if so, you need to figure out what is causing the cravings and get rid of it.

Hey Jimmie,

I'm not craving things. Just hungry. An hour after I eat breakfast, whether it's 2 stips of bacon plus an omelete with cheese and veggies or a flax muffin or a sausage pattie with eggs, my stomach just starts growling. I drink over 100 ounces of water a day but if I'm hungry water just seems to make it worse.
And I know my body well enough to know that I can not eat every time I'm hungry and still lose weight.
Anyway, that wasn't even my question but thanks for asking.

susan, i didn't mean to come across in any way but with concern. i'm sorry if you took it any other way than that.
i really don't understand your feeling of hunger.
are you on induction?

since you asked about slim shots, personally, i think it's pricey and it would not be something i recommend to anyone.

Susan,

It may be helpful to keep a food journal to keep track of your food intake. Fitday.com provides a free & helpful program. You may simply may not be eating enough food in the proper protein/fat/carbs ratio. If you're eating enough fat at each meal, you *shouldn't* be hungry, since fat is suppose to make us feel satisfied & Atkins is a high fat way of eating. Fiber also has a appetite-suppressing quality to it as well.

Are you still in induction or have you moved on to one of the rungs?

If you're willing to take a careful & critical look at what you're eating via the food journal, you may find areas in which may need some improvement before spending the money on Slim Shot or some other pill. Otherwise, I'm afraid I cannot help out with these appetite suppressors on whether they work & so forth. I'm just not familiar with them.

Best of luck!

No Problem, Jimmie. Sometimes the writen word can come across as a bit harsh.
No worries
I am curently on rung 4 berries. About the only thing that I've added a bit of since induction is yogurt with strawberries.

I do use fitday occassionally. I find it a pain to use every day. I put my food in yesterday and the percentage was 75% fat 20% protien 5% carbs.

What items make up your 5% carbs? I know you're eating yogurt, so that will take up some of your carbs...hopefully, you're not eating a lot of it & keeping your portions small. For many folks, it is not very filling and usually best as a small dessert/treat. Are you getting plenty of fiberous veggies in your eating plan?

In DANDR, Dr. Atkins recommends L-phenylalanine (500 mg) or acetyl L-tyrosine (300 mg) to help with hunger that appears despite being in ketosis. You take one or the other right before mealtime.

I don't eat yogurt every day. Maybe once a week. Usually about 1/2 cup mixed with a few strawberries. My carbs are mainly eggs and veggies. I eat a lot of brocolli, cauliflower. For salad veggies I eat bell peppers, mushrooms and cucumbers and occassionally some romaine lettuce. I've come to hate salads so I eat a lot of stir fry with veggies and chicken. Cucumbers with tuna and mayo, And in my omelete in the morning....bell peppers, onions, mushrooms and brocolli.
I've never heard of L-phenylalanine or acetyl L-tyrosine. I may have to give them a try. I use to take L-Glutamine to help with my sweet cravings. It seemed to work quite well. So does L-phenylalanine and acetyl L-tyrosine help with just hunger pains? I'll look for those next time I'm in town.
Thanks so much,

Susan

If you are hungry, you should eat a legal snack. Maybe eating 5 or 6 small meals a day rather than 3 large ones may work better for you--it does for me, i can't live without a second small meal a couple of hours after breakfast.

I don't really think appetite suppressants are a good idea for a number of reasons, learning how to control your appetite naturally, will make you far more successful when you get to maintenance.

good luck!
