Dr. Atkins recommends taking choline, inositol, and methionine. How many mg. of each should I take?

Default Re: choline, inositol, mehtionine

According to U.S. and Canadian guidelines, the recommended daily intake of choline is as follows:

Infants 0–6 months, 125 mg
7–12 months, 150 mg
Children 1–3 years, 200 mg
4–8 years, 250 mg
9–13 years, 375 mg
Males 14 years and older, 550 mg
Females 14–18 years, 400 mg
19 years and older, 425 mg
Pregnant women, 450 mg
Nursing women, 550 mg

However, the therapeutic dose is anywhere between 1-30 g

Inositol is not known to be an essential nutrient. However, nuts, seeds, beans, whole grains, cantaloupe, and citrus fruits supply a substance called phytic acid (inositol hexaphosphate, or IP6), which releases inositol when acted on by bacteria in the digestive tract. The typical American diet provides an estimated 1,000 mg daily.

Therapeutic Dosages

Experimentally, inositol dosages of up to 18 g daily have been tried for various conditions.

Depending on your body weight, you need between 800 and 1,000 mg of methionine daily for normal health. Deficiency is unlikely because enough methionine is generally available from the diet.

Meat, fish, dairy products, and other high-protein foods are good sources of methionine.

Therapeutic Dosages

A proper therapeutic dosage of methionine has not been determined. One study relating to urinary tract infections used a dosage of 500 mg 3 times daily. A study enrolling people with HIV used a dose of 800 mg three times daily.

I'm no way in the medical field so I'm probably not the best person to answer, but this is what I could find on the web
