| I can't think of any reason why a ginseng supplement would interfere with your Atkins plan. The drinks are, of course, a little more tricky. Never had one, but I would assume there is some form of sugar in them, right?

Despite all your good intentions, you're mightily tempted by a food you're not supposed to have. What to do? I'll tell you this: You'd better have a strategy ready!" | I would assume that the drinks had sugar. I wasn't on atkins at the time so I unfortunately wasn't midful of such things. Either way I am considering a supplement instead of risking the drink. I am open to other ideas to boost my energy levels, which seem to never get out of the mid-low range. |

| Are you exercising at all? Even mild exercise on a regular basis will boost your energy levels. Do you use fitday and what is your fat percentage eaten each day? Sometimes low energy is due to insufficient fat in the diet. |

| Currently I am not doing anything extra for exercise, though I hope to add something here in the near future. I am winding down off my summer work schedule which was abnormally high for the last few months at 105 hours a week...literally 15 hours a day, seven days a week. I haven't had a day off since April 3rd, so I think a big part of my energy issue is that I am overworked....or maybe just plain burnt-out. Even still, I usually have a lot of energy on my "normal" work week which hovers around 60 hrs. That is all changing on Thursday as I am going out for hand surgery (AGAIN ) and will be on restricted duty for approximately eight weeks. I intend to kick off next week with some walking while the weather holds here. Hopefully I can get my weight under 375 fairly quickly so I can transistion to an elliptical once the snow really starts flying. I will probably have to hold off on any weight training, at least upper body, until after the New Year.I have heard of fitday, but honestly I have never used it. I'll have to take a crack at it. I have considered in the past that one of my issues maybe that I don't eat enough. I mean, I AM a big guy but I think most people would be shocked at how active and I dare say lively I am. I have never been one of those lumbering fat guys that can't climb a flight of stairs. So I might be shorting myself on the food end. It is a bit of a double-edged sword...I am fortunate enough to not have much of an appetite when I am on the diet, but I find it difficult to eat when I am not hungry. Frankly, I forget all about it entirely sometimes. I'll plug into fitday tonight and see what I can glean. Thanks for the help. |
