![]() Well, I'm going to bust your stats: I take both! p.s. From one of my comments in the recent Read The Book Challenge: "L-carnitine is involved in fat transport which works in collaboration with chromium and CoQ10 to mobilize fat (among other things)."

| I added those for awhile and noticed no difference in weight loss, so I stopped spending extra $$ for them, although there is some Chromium Picolinate in my multivitamins. L-Carnitine is too expensive for me unless I can see the benefit. OTOH, Sherri, one of the moderators, does take L-Carnitine. At least I believe I read a post of hers saying that. Off topic: mizski, where do you find Atkins vitamins? I thought they weren't in production anymore. |

| Mizski, I made my comments based on an admittedly un-exhaustive review of posts on the Vita Nutrients Solution/Supplements Forum, focusing on those where posters list the supplements they are taking.

On a personal note, I was just taking my Centrum Silver, EFAs and a few other supplements when I started Atkins. I felt kind of punky even after Induction so I went back and re-read the section on supplements. Figured, what the heck...maybe Dr. Atkins knows what he's talking about I do believe more people should pay attention to Chapter 23 and take the supplements he recommends. p.s. Chapter 23 is titled Nutritional Supplements: Don't Even Think of Getting Along Without Them! Yet many do.

| I take both too, but I have noticed, like the OP, that in those threads about "What vitamins are you taking", they do not seem to get mentioned much.

| I take chromium, L-carnitine, CoQ10 and CLA daily. At night I take potassium, magnesium and calcium to help with cramping. In addition to these vitamins, I also take milk thisle, N-Acetyl Cysteine, Lecithin to help reduce my blood pressure and help with kidney and liver support. I also take a one-a-day vitamin, too, and just recently started taking my Omega-3 fish oil pills. I read on a bodybuilding website that this helps the joints. I might start doing chondroitin glucosamine again, but I need to find the shell-fish free stuff. I was taking 1000 mg of Niacin, until I found out that I was allergic to the stuff. Whew, that wasn't fun at all. Felt like my skin was on fire. I don't know if this helps the weight loss or not, however, I do know that I haven't had a cold since. All the while, my wife and some of the cats have came down with a cold and they have been sneezing and coughing. {{{knock on wood}}} Last edited by Bishop; December 3rd, 2009 at 06:01 PM. |
