Re: Day 1
Please do not worry about coming back. You recognize you need to get back on the wagon.
You need to look at what causes you to get off the program (or rather what has in the PAST!). Is it planning? Saying no to family and friends with extra goodies? Eating out?
You need to make sure the first 14 days are planned so that this time you have no excuse and will make it through. YOU CAN DO THIS! And we are here to help ...use the forums as they are a great support tool.
Much Success,Traci

Re: Day 1
Don't dwell on it but look back on why you failed your attempts before. Was in lack of preparation? Carbs in your house and too available? Eating out with friends? Not knowing what to buy? Not reading DANDR 2002?
Again, the point is only to learn from your experience and to move forward.
For me, I made multiple copies of the Acceptable Food List and the Rules of Induction and carried a copy with me, kept one on the refrigerator, kept one at my office and in my home office and in my car. I think I was a slow learner and needed the constant reminders, but it worked for me.
Look for the stories on this board from people who have done it right and try to identify with them and their stories. You may pick up some valuable ideas.
I used to be a nighttime snacker. Someone on this board used to say that they painted their nails every night ... of course those who paint their nails know that you don't want to mess them up with smudges after you paint them. It worked for me and I finally broke the nail biting habit and lost weight!
Best wishes.
When you are alone in your head, you are in a bad neighborhood.

Re: Day 1
It sounds as if you have got a great positive attitude this time
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

Re: Day 1
Just think how awesome you're going to feel about yourself to finally make it through that 14 days! I agree with the mods, planning, planning, planning. You must get recipes, cook, and arm yourself with the proper foods. You don't have to tell anyone what you are doing, either. I just tell people that bread and sweets give me severe heartburn so I have to lay off as a general rule in my diet. Non Atkin's eaters don't know or understand the diet and try to talk you out of it and debate about it.
My plan of attack for eating out with others is that I make sure I go on and on about how I've been dreaming, craving, thinking all day about the big juicy steak/chicken salad, etc and tall glass of iced tea I'm going to have when we get there. Just stay one step ahead of people around you, and the days themselves so that you aren't caught without anything to eat.
It takes work, no one can lie about it. But as they say....you're worth it!June

Re: Day 1
Hi and welcome back –
Don’t compare what you lost or how you did “the last time” your body and lifestyle isn’t the same as last time – follow the plan the way it is written, exercise, drink plenty of pure water (64 ounces minimum daily – nothing added) and you’ll be on your way to loosing before you know it.
At the top of the induction page you’ll find a condensed version of the book - http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/77558-atkins-diet-induction-faqs.html. Make a copy of this list http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html and take it with you when you go to the store. If a food isn’t listed on the acceptable food list don’t eat it. Learn to read the label on all foods you buy - don’t just look at the “carb” number look at the ingredients list of everything and check the ingredients against your list. Just because it says "low carb" doesn't mean you can eat it. Also check for hidden sugars (learn the names used in place of the word “sugar”).
Check the STAC Second Time Around Club - Atkins Diet for additional support. Check the stickies at the top of the induction forum to refresh your memory on the plan. http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/5781-before-you-begin-atkins-nutritional-approach.html.
The recipe sites are a helpful meal planning tool – just make sure you use Induction Recipes to begin with.

Check out Linda's site too - I love her recipes! A lot of them freeze well, so I always have a couple meals in the freezer for those 'crazy' days when cooking just isn't an option
